Why pH Neutral?
pH is a scale from 0-14 that measures acidity and alkalinity. It’s actually the measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions in a solution. The “p” and “H” stand for “potency” of “Hydrogen” (the “H” is capitalized because it’s standard to capitalize element symbols). A high pH means a substance is very alkali. A low pH means it is acidic. Bean & Lily uses a tolerance of 6 - 8 ph in the manufacturing process.
On both sides of the scale, highly acidic or highly alkali solutions are corrosive. They can pit, damage, and eat away at surfaces...including your skin! The problem is, most cleaners use extreme pH to clean products — they’re basically “corroding” the dirt away. We think that’s just nuts. Our products clean without corroding because they’re pH appropriate for the job. Our cleaning products for the home are pH neutral, meaning they won’t pit, mar, or haze surfaces, and won’t be too acidic or alkali.
